Habitat is my bachelor project in the course Contemporary Architecture. The aim of the project is to explore and experiment with form and functionality using digital tools. The project is a nature center in Limhamn’s nature reserve limestone quarry, Malmö. Using the UN’s sustainable development goals as a starting point. Habitat focuses on integrating rare species of insects into its structure to minimize the impact of exploitation on their habitats. Additionally it allows for a harmless interaction to learn about them, their habitats and the local environment. The form is a play on negative space where the cavities become an inversion of the building.
