Alongside my work, I participated in the competition for Guldtorget hosted by Sveriges Arkitekter, where our proposal came in second place. Guldtorget is the most central point in Skellefteå, and the square was last redesigned in the late 1980s. Over time, the square has lost its ability to meet today’s needs, hence the proposal to upgrade it.

Words from the jury: “A lush and playful frame attracts visitors to the square. Seating walls and terraced plantings add a more intimate scale, and the asymmetrical seating edge forms inviting spaces with a sun deck, amphitheatre and lounge.”
