Rukomo Chapel is an addition to a monastery up in the mountains in the village of Rukomo in Rwanda. The chapel uses local materials and construction techniques to save money and involve the population of the village in the construction. Where the construction, in addition to acting as a construction site, also constitutes a learning platform that can further act as an economic breeding ground for the participants. The chapel is designed for versatility and an atmosphere that harmonizes with the surrounding nature and spirituality.
